Uno - A Game of Cards and Physical Fitness

Updated: Apr 17

Family games are a great way to incorporate family bonding as well as physical activity together. Uno is a great game that the whole family can play with no equipment needed.

It is also a great game to play on those rainy days!

Step 1: Come up with different movements. Here is a list to get you started, feel free to come up with your own as well!

  • Hops

  • Touching elbow to opposite knee

  • Jumping jacks

  • Push ups

  • Squats (have kids hold a ball to make it a little more fun)

  • Shoulder taps (in a plank position)

  • Leg lifts

  • Step ups (on a stair if you have them)

Step 2: Each color card will represent a different movement. Here are some examples:

  • Green = Hops

  • Blue = jumping jacks

  • Yellow = Shoulder taps

  • Red = squats

  • Wild = Leg lifts

  • Draw 2/4 = rest card

  • Reverse/skip = rest cards

Step 3: Deal out Uno cards

Step 4: When it is your turn to lay a card, you must complete the movement that corresponds to the color. The amount of reps will correspond to the number on the card. 0 on a card represents 10 reps.

  • Example: I lay a Red 5 - I have to do 5 squats before my next turn

Step 5: Have Fun!!

P.S. You may want to limit this game to 20 minutes as you all may get tired!

There are many different variations of this game- be creative with your version! Tag us in your post when you play this game! We’d love to see what you all come up with!
